It's 53rd year of independence for Malaya, and almost 47th years of independence for Malaysia. I hope we will not forget this, cause some of us already do.
The soil which I first took my steps. The soil which has given so much and asking nothing back in return. This is the soil that I hoped to return to. The soil I hoped to devote my service to.
Tanah tumpah darahku. Tanah Malaysiaku. Selamat Hari Kemerdekaan.
