it's the end, but not yet

the competition has ended after two days. we didn't make it to the semifinals. we're not the top two in our group. however, we still had fun during the game. on our first match, against the previous year champion, we managed to put up some performance, and scored an equalizer in the second half, leaving us to draw againts the team. we were close to win, as we had the chance to score, but didn't seize the opportunity. still, we're glad, as it didn't turn out as bad as we thought.

and then on the second match, against another strong team in the group, we held the same gameplay we used before, and put up yet another strong performance, keeping our goal clear from any possibility of conceding. it was a null null match, but it was a huge achievement. the day ended with two draw for our team, putting us on the third place in the group.

the next day, we had our matches in the morning. the first one was against a team of post-grads players, mostly. they have more experience, more skills, and better control of the ball, but they played rough, brute and dirty. i can't imagine insulting others when i'm 30 or 40 just for the sake of using the foul language. on this match, we lost our coordination. we didn't play our best. we lost our composure. due to that, we were losing by one null in the first half. but history repeated itself, and again, we scored an equalizer in the second half, leaving us with another draw, which marks the end of our journey for this competition.

on our last match, we played with full spirit, even knowing that we couldn't go further. still, our passion for football told us to have fun out there, be yourself, do your thing! and that's exactly what we did. against the champion of the group, we enjoyed the game to the last moment. although in the end, we lost to the team by one null. we had no regrets. we did our best, but luck is not on our side. 3 draw and 1 lost. its better than last year for sure, but not good enough.

that's the end of this year competition. and its the end for a few, as i mentioned. but its not yet the end of our crave for the sport. we'll come back again next year, stronger and better.
