as the title says, bad things have an affection for me as it came one after another, leaving me in despair remembering them all. although it has been a joyous winter holiday, going from one place to another, from adelaide to canberra and sydney, it also has been the most expensive holiday ever. in total, i can say that i spent about 3-4 k for the whole trips. that includes the amount of items i lost due to theft, and also the money i had to fork out to pay for the car damage because of an accident.
in adelaide, while everything was going smoothly, it turned out to be a temporary moment. it's funny that it happened while i was in the toilet, doing some unfinished business when suddenly my friend knocked on the door telling me the other car met with an accident. with an unsettled feelings, i decided to put a hold on whatever i'm doing, cleaned up and rushed outside to join my two friends who were already in the car waiting. we searched and searched for where the accident took place but by the time we got there, the car was already towed away. fortunately everyone in the car was alright. not to be faltered by the incident, we decided to enjoy the time we have left by having a walk in the city. we even went crabbing, as planned. guess not all things ended badly.
the next trip, to canberra and sydney, was one of the trip i thought is the most wonderful. again, everything was going so smoothly, even until the end on the way back to melbourne, when things make a quick turn to the worst. during the trip, my friend, shafiq and i did all the things we planned, visited all the places we wanted and had the best time of our lives! even before we boarded the train to melbourne, we bought a couple of the best chicken burgers you'll ever eat in sydney (people say) as our meals on the train.
while in the train, we slept comfortably, not noticing anything went wrong. but as soon as we arrived at our destination, shafiq took out my camera bag, and felt something was different. he quickly opened the bag, only to discover that everything were gone. the dslr, plus the one camera that i hold precious to me, the green sony compact camera, given by my sister. kak ngah, if you're reading this article now, i'm really sorry for losing the camera. you worked hard to buy it for me and i lost it. although maybe nothing i say can change the situation, but one day when i'm older and more capable, i'll repay you for what you've been through.
now i'm back at my house, writing this article down as all the memories came back one by one. hopefully by writing all the bitter pieces in this solid space, it will become the past and i can go on with the present. to God, i know everything that happened has its reasons, and i hope these things that happened to me will help me become a better person. Amin.
